TCC’s mission is to accommodate the seamless integration of all Tigrayans living in Washington State with common values into American society. TCC aims to create a civically engaged and united community dedicated to enriching community members’ lives. To promote and encourage self-reliance by providing services to improve the well-being of its members and inspire successful assimilation into the new homeland. With a focus on unity, education, and health, the community assists members and nonmembers in navigating the complex web of social services. It addresses the root causes of the barriers that limit the immigrant’s economic and social progress.

Over 30 years ago, a small group came together to create the Tigrayan Community Center and set out to preserve the rich culture and heritage of Tigrayans in the State of WA. To enable Tigrayan dissent Ethiopians living in WA to become socially active and civically engaged citizens. It aims to preserve the rich cultural Tigrayan heritage to pass it on to the next generation. To provide our youth with cultural roots and wings. Provide a center where members could meet and exercise their shared values and customs. To foster and develop unity within the community, empowerment, grassroots leadership, advocacy, and organizing to address our community’s immediate and long-term issues locally and nationally.
